Google and XREAL launch AURA glasses with Android XR and 120 Hz Sony Micro-OLED displays
XREAL and Google have unveiled the XREAL AURA, wired XR glasses powered by Android XR, with Google Play support and the Gemini AI assistant. Most of the computing is handled by a separate Computing Puck, while the glasses themselves weigh about 95 grams.
Displays and design
The XREAL AURA use the X Prism transparent optical system, with a 70° field of view that overlays virtual images onto the real world.
The glasses feature two Sony Micro-OLED displays, each with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and peak brightness of 1,050 nits. They offer full sRGB coverage and color accuracy of ΔE < 3. The lenses support electrochromic dimming with five transparency levels.
The glasses come in two sizes for interpupillary distances of 60-66 and 66-72 mm. They have adjustable nose pads and support prescription lenses. The Sound by Bose audio system supports spatial audio, while four microphones enable voice control.
Performance
Most of the computing is handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Reality Elite processor in the external Computing Puck. The AI accelerator delivers up to 48 TOPS. The glasses also have an XREAL X1S co-processor, which provides motion-to-photon latency of 3 ms.

Two cameras handle six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) spatial tracking and hand-gesture recognition. A third camera is used to analyze the surroundings. An LED indicator next to it shows when it is active.
The Computing Puck has 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It also houses a 4,455 mAh (34.84 Wh) battery and an active cooling system. Wired charging is supported at up to 57 W.
Android XR, Gemini, and controls
Android XR lets users launch apps from Google Play, resize virtual windows, and pin them in space. More than 150 XR apps adapted for the platform will be available at launch, including games and 3D, 180°, and 360° content.
Google’s built-in Gemini AI assistant uses the cameras to recognize objects in the user’s surroundings, answer questions, and provide contextual information. It can also assist with open apps and highlight relevant interface elements.

The glasses can be controlled by voice, hand gestures, or the Computing Puck’s touchpad. Keyboards, mice, and game controllers can be connected via Bluetooth.
Wired Mirroring lets users display a laptop or compatible handheld console’s screen over USB-C. Android XR apps can remain open alongside the connected device’s virtual screen.
The Computing Puck has two USB-C ports and supports Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and satellite navigation. A fingerprint scanner built into a button on the casing can be used to unlock the device and confirm operations.
Pricing and availability
Preorders for the XREAL AURA opened on October 28, 2026, in the US, Canada, and South Korea. They open in Japan on November 2, with the first shipments expected in mid-November.
