Google Pixel 11 at $899 fails to launch Genshin Impact
New smartphones Google Pixel 11 received the Tensor G6 processor, however they have serious issues with one of the most popular mobile games. Device owners report graphical glitches in Genshin Impact, which in some cases make it nearly impossible to play normally.
The issue was noticed not only by ordinary users. During testing of the Pixel 11 Pro, Wired journalists encountered a purple screen and other visual artifacts. Later, similar complaints began to appear from Pixel 11 owners. The cause, it seems, is related to the PowerVR graphics processor used in the Tensor G6.
One of the players contacted Genshin Impact support and received a response that GPU PowerVR does not yet meet the game’s minimum requirements. At the same time, it is important to note that this is a comment from customer support, not an official statement from HoYoverse developer.
Google explains the situation differently. The company considers the situation an optimization issue and is already working with HoYoverse to fix it. It is expected that the solution will appear in one of the future updates to Genshin Impact, but specific timelines are not yet disclosed.
The situation is especially unpleasant given the price of the Pixel 11. The cost of the new lineup starts at approximately $899, and more expensive versions cost even more. At the same time, Google separately highlighted the capabilities of Tensor G6 and its graphics subsystem.
A similar situation has already occurred with Pixel 10. After switching to PowerVR graphics, users had to wait for driver updates that Google released over several months. Therefore, the current problems cannot be called completely unexpected.
At the same time, it is too early to say that the Pixel 11 generally cannot handle demanding games. The smartphone is capable of running projects such as Zenless Zone Zero, although it lags behind some competitors in terms of smoothness. The main issue now is specifically related to the compatibility of Genshin Impact with the PowerVR graphics platform.
Google is already working on resolving the issue together with the game developers. It remains to wait for the update and check whether it can fully eliminate the graphical artifacts.
