Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A18 4G with IP64 protection for €279
The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G has replaced last year’s Galaxy A17 4G. There are few significant changes in design and specifications. The main updates are the switch from MediaTek Helio G99 to the Samsung Exynos 1610, along with improved body protection rated IP64 instead of IP54.
Screen
The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display featuring Full HD+ resolution (1080 × 2340 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. A teardrop notch for the front camera is located at the top of the screen. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 glass.
Processor and performance
Instead of the MediaTek Helio G99 used in the Galaxy A17 4G, the smartphone received a new 8-core Samsung Exynos 1610 processor. Its cores operate at frequencies up to 2.4 and 2.0 GHz, although Samsung has not yet disclosed details about its architecture.
Depending on the market, the Galaxy A18 4G is offered with 4, 6, or 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 64, 128, or 256 GB. It includes a microSD slot supporting cards up to 2 TB.
Cameras
On the back panel are three cameras:
- main 50 MP camera with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, without OIS;
- ultra-wide-angle lens with 5 MP and f/2.2 aperture;
- 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
The front camera has a resolution of 13 MP and an aperture of f/2.0. The main camera records video at Full HD resolution with a frame rate of 30 frames per second.
Battery
The Galaxy A18 4G is equipped with a typical battery capacity of 5000 mAh. The minimum rated battery life is 1200 charge cycles. Wired charging up to 25 W is supported, which, according to Samsung, allows replenishing 50% of the charge in 30 minutes.
Other
The smartphone’s dimensions are 164,4 × 77,9 × 7,7 mm, and its weight is 196 grams. IP64 protection means the device is completely dust-tight and protected against water splashes.
Galaxy A18 4G supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. It uses a USB Type-C port with an USB 2.0 interface. It features dual SIM support, with the second slot shared with microSD.
The smartphone runs Android 17 with the One UI 9.0 interface. Samsung promises six generations of Android updates and six years of security updates. For the French version, security support is guaranteed until October 31, 2032. Circle to Search and Gemini are also available.
Price and availability
Pre-orders are now open in Europe. Official sales launch and first shipments to customers will begin on September 18, 2026. The smartphone is available in three colors: gray, light blue, and black. The price of the Samsung Galaxy A18 4G in the 4/128 GB configuration is €280.
