Nubia NaviX Ultra was created by ZTE in collaboration with ByteDance. The manufacturer calls it the first mass-produced smartphone with an AI agent.

Display and chassis

The Nubia NaviX Ultra is equipped with a flat 6.78-inch OLED display BOE with a resolution of 2800×1260 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-144 Hz. Peak brightness reaches 4500 nits. It supports PWM at 2160 Hz and DC Dimming across the entire brightness range. The bezel width is 1.09 mm.

The smartphone measures 162,11×75,69×7,62 mm and weighs 208 grams. The back panel is made of glass, and the frame is made of metal. The device is protected to IP68 and IP69 standards.

Performance

The Nubia NaviX Ultra is powered by a 3-nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It comes with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a UFS4.1 storage drive available in 512 GB or 1 TB capacities.

The device uses LPDDR5X chips from CXMT and Samsung with data transfer speeds up to 10,667 Mbit/s. CXMT calls NaviX Ultra the first mass-produced smartphone with its LPDDR5X operating at such speed.

An evaporative cooling chamber with an area of 7100 mm² has been installed.

Cameras

The main camera consists of three sensors:

  • 200 MP, Samsung HPE, 1/1,4 inches, f/1.6, seven-element lens, and optical image stabilization;
  • 50 MP, OmniVision OV50D40, 1/2,88 inches, f/2.0, 18 mm equivalent focal length, and autofocus for macro photography;
  • 64 MP, OmniVision OV64B, 1/2 inch, periscope optics with 3x zoom, autofocus, and optical image stabilization.

The front camera features a 32-MP OmniVision OV32D40 sensor with a 1/3-inch size and an f/2.0 lens.

The camera app supports editing photos with voice commands, provides framing guidance, and includes voice narration during recording.

Battery

The Nubia NaviX Ultra is equipped with a fifth-generation Nanhai battery with a capacity of 7100 mAh and an energy density of 902 Wh/L. Wired charging power is 90 W, and wireless charging power is 50 W.

AI agent Doubao

The smartphone runs Nebula AIOS based on Android 16 with the Doubao Phone Assistant from ByteDance, owner of TikTok, integrated. The AI agent breaks down complex requests into a sequence of actions and executes them across different services. According to ZTE, individual tasks can consist of hundreds of steps and take dozens of minutes to complete, with a success rate exceeding 80%.

While executing a task, you can add new commands, change their priority, and queue subsequent actions. The process continues in the background and even when the screen is locked.

Doubao is integrated with Feishu, CaoCao Mobility, maps, and the Qishui Music service. Through it, you can order a taxi, check your calendar, send a message, schedule a meeting, open a task list, or forward a document. The list of supported third-party services is currently limited.

A separate mode allows creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and code with a single command. Feishu Minutes transcribes meetings and generates concise summaries, while information in recordings can be searched using natural language queries.

Doubao runs on the full-duplex voice model Seed. The assistant can be interrupted mid-response, allowing the conversation to continue without reactivation. It supports English and more than ten Chinese dialects, including Cantonese, Minnan, Hakka, and Shanghainese.

AI can analyze text, audio, images, video, and screen content. Through the camera, it can recognize surrounding objects in real time.

With the owner’s permission, the system saves user preferences. Information from the screen can be added to personal memory via a voice command or a three-finger gesture, then retrieved with a text or voice query.

Also included are on-screen product recognition, an AI caller for incoming calls, and priority notifications.

On the right edge is a separate orange button to launch Doubao, featuring an integrated fingerprint scanner. It is used to verify identity when actions are performed by the AI agent. Another ultrasonic scanner is located under the display.

NaviX Ultra has registered its AI agent model in China. The manufacturer also states support for SAEP and international security certification mechanisms.

Connectivity and Interfaces

Nubia NaviX Ultra supports two nanoSIM cards, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. It also includes an IR transmitter, dual-band satellite navigation, stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, and a USB Type-C port of the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard.

The proprietary communication system is designed to improve signal stability in elevators, underground parking garages, and high-speed trains.
