Xiaomi has released the POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra smartphones
Both models feature 185 Hz AMOLED displays, 200-megapixel main cameras, Bose-tuned audio systems, and flagship Qualcomm processors. However, the global versions have smaller batteries than their Chinese Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max counterparts, while prices have increased significantly.
Chassis and design
POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra are based on the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which were previously unveiled in China. Both smartphones feature metal frames and protection against water and dust.

The F9 Pro is the more compact model: its dimensions are 157.49 × 75.25 × 8.79 mm, and it weighs 206 grams. The model is available in several colors, including Aurora Green with a luminescent coating on the back panel. It absorbs light and glows in the dark.

The F9 Ultra is noticeably larger – 163.49 × 77.94 × 8.74 mm and weighs 235 grams. A dedicated subwoofer is built into the camera module, which is surrounded by an LED ring. It is used for notifications and lighting effects during music playback and gaming.
Display
POCO F9 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2510 × 1156 pixels, while the F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch panel with a resolution of 2608 × 1200 pixels.
Both models use 12-bit HyperRGB AMOLED panels based on TCL M11 material with a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. The maximum refresh rate is available in compatible games, with more than 20 titles supported at launch.
The touch sampling rate is 480 Hz, and the instantaneous touch sampling rate can reach 4800 Hz. HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and DC dimming are supported.
Peak brightness reaches 4500 nits across a larger portion of the screen and up to 10,000 nits when displaying HDR content in a small area of the panel.
Performance
POCO F9 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the F9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series – a slightly simplified version of Qualcomm’s flagship platform. POCO claims that the F9 Ultra scores up to 4,165,108 points in AnTuTu.

Both smartphones also feature a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chip for image processing in games. AI-based resolution upscaling and frame generation are supported.
The 3D IceLoop system handles cooling. In gaming modes, WildBoost Engine manages CPU performance, graphics, and touch response.
The F9 Pro is equipped with 12 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The F9 Ultra is available with 12 or 16 GB of RAM and storage capacities ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB.
Cameras
For the first time in the POCO F series, both models feature a 200-megapixel main camera. A 1/1.56-inch Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor is used, paired with an f/1.68 aperture lens and optical image stabilization.

POCO F9 Pro is additionally equipped with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 112-degree field of view and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom. The latter can focus from a distance of 10 cm and can also be used for telemacro photography.
The F9 Ultra has a more advanced camera setup. In addition to the main 200-megapixel camera, it features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera based on the Samsung JN5 sensor, with 5x optical zoom and OIS.

For the F9 Ultra, POCO claims up to 10x zoom without significant loss of image quality and 20x digital zoom with AI-assisted image processing.
The front camera on both models has a resolution of 32 MP and supports 4K video recording.
Sound
The audio systems of both smartphones were developed in collaboration with Bose.
POCO F9 Pro is equipped with two symmetrical 1115F speakers. The F9 Ultra features a full 2.1-channel system – two 1115D speakers are complemented by a dedicated 1620 subwoofer on the rear panel.
Bose-tuned Dynamic and Balanced sound profiles are also available. The F9 Ultra features Bose Game Audio Engine technology, which is designed to emphasize important in-game sounds, such as enemy footsteps.
Battery
POCO F9 Pro is equipped with a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 6330 mAh, while the F9 Ultra has an 8050 mAh battery.
These capacities are significantly lower than those of the Chinese models on which the smartphones are based. The Redmi K100 Pro is equipped with an 8580 mAh battery, meaning the global F9 Pro has 2250 mAh less capacity. The Redmi K100 Pro Max is equipped with a 9070 mAh battery – the F9 Ultra has 1020 mAh less capacity.

At the same time, both models offer flagship-level charging capabilities:
- 100 W wired charging;
- 50 W wireless charging;
- reverse wired charging at up to 27 W;
- reverse wireless charging at up to 22.5 W.
Other features
Both smartphones support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, 5G, and eSIM. An infrared blaster for controlling home appliances has also been retained. The fingerprint scanner is ultrasonic and integrated into the display.
The devices run Android 16 with HyperOS 3. The series is promised four major Android updates and six years of security updates.
