Lenovo released the Lecoo GT 16 gaming laptop for $895
Lenovo has released the Lecoo GT 16 gaming laptop in China, featuring a 16-inch 165 Hz display and NVIDIA discrete graphics. Priced at around $895, the model comes with DDR4 RAM and the far-from-new GeForce RTX 3050 with 4 GB of video memory.
Performance
The Lenovo Lecoo GT 16 is built on the Intel Core 5 205H processor from the Core Series 2 family. The CPU features eight cores—four performance cores and four efficiency cores—and handles up to 12 threads. Maximum frequency reaches 4.8 GHz, and the third-level cache size is 12 MB.
The laptop is equipped with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. The Core 5 205H supports faster DDR5-5200 as well, but Lenovo chose the previous standard. For comparison, the globally available Lenovo LOQ Essential 15IRH11 with the same processor uses DDR5-5200.
Graphics are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU with 4 GB of GDDR6. This is an Ampere-generation GPU featuring hardware ray tracing and DLSS support, but by today’s standards, 4 GB of video memory significantly limits its capabilities in modern demanding games.
Lenovo claims TGP graphics cards up to 95 W. The cooling system includes two fans, and the combined performance of CPU and GPU can reach 140 W.
Display
The Lecoo GT 16 is equipped with a 16-inch display featuring a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The refresh rate is 165 Hz, and full sRGB color gamut coverage is claimed.
The display is one of the notable differences from the Lenovo LOQ Essential 15IRH11, which uses a 15.3-inch panel. Both models support refresh rates up to 165 Hz.
Storage and Equipment
The base version comes with a SSD of 512 GB. It features two M.2 slots, allowing you to replace the drive or install a second SSD. Each slot supports drives up to 8 TB.
The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home. The package includes a 180 W power adapter. A two-year warranty in China is also specified for the Lecoo GT 16.
Lenovo has not yet disclosed the full set of interfaces, battery capacity, dimensions, and weight of the model.
Price and release date
The Lenovo Lecoo GT 16, configured with a Core 5 205H processor, GeForce RTX 3050 4 GB GPU, 16 GB RAM, and SSD 512 GB storage, is priced at 5999 yuan (≈ $895) in China.
For buyers eligible for the Chinese government subsidy, the price drops to 5099.15 yuan (≈ $761). Official sales begin on September 27 at 10:00 local time.
The release date for the Lecoo GT 16 outside China has not yet been announced. The use of DDR4 and a GeForce RTX 3050 allows Lenovo to keep the price lower than more modern gaming models, while it has not reduced the 165 Hz display or the option to install two SSD.
