iPhone 18 Pro battery replacement price increases
Apple has increased the cost of battery replacement for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In the United States, out-of-warranty service now costs $129, while Apple still charges $119 for iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro. Thus, the battery replacement price has risen by $10.
The price increase coincided with the capacity boost of next-generation batteries. Due to European Union requirements, Apple disclosed the nominal capacity of batteries in European versions of smartphones with a physical SIM card slot:
- iPhone 18 Pro – 4056 mAh versus 3988 mAh for iPhone 17 Pro;
- iPhone 18 Pro Max – 5391 mAh vs. 4823 mAh for iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Thus, the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro increased by approximately 1.7%, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max saw an increase of 11.8%.
In some countries, Apple sells the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with eSIM only. Removing the physical SIM slot allowed the company to use the freed-up space for a larger battery. Apple states that these versions provide up to two additional hours of video playback. According to unofficial sources, battery capacities are 4288 mAh for the iPhone 18 Pro and 5567 mAh for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, though Apple has not yet confirmed these figures.
For AppleCare+ holders, the terms remain unchanged. If a battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity, Apple will replace it at no additional cost under the active plan. Owners without AppleCare+ must pay for the replacement at the standard service rate.
