Thanks to the EU’s mandatory energy label, it has been revealed that the iPhone Duo is equipped with a 4,883 mAh battery. That’s more than the iPhone 18 Pro but less than the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Battery capacity and battery life

The European database lists a rated battery capacity of 4,883 mAh for the iPhone Duo, model number A3720. The smartphone uses two separate battery cells, located in different halves of the body.

Insiders previously reported that the cells have capacities of 2,962 and 1,921 mAh, respectively. The new data confirms their combined capacity, although Apple does not disclose the specifications of each cell separately.

For comparison, iFixit specialists found batteries with capacities of 4,288 and 5,567 mAh in the eSIM versions of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, respectively. The iPhone Duo therefore exceeds the smaller model by 595 mAh but falls short of the larger one by 684 mAh.

Apple iPhone Duo

According to standardized EU tests, the iPhone Duo’s battery life is 51 hours and 30 minutes. Apple itself, however, claims up to 24 hours of typical use. The smartphone can play locally stored video for up to 44 hours on the external display and up to 31 hours on the internal display. For streaming video, those figures drop to 37 and 26 hours, respectively.

The difference is due to the displays’ different sizes: 5.4 inches for the external display and 7.6 inches for the internal one. Actual battery life depends on usage and is not determined by battery capacity alone.

Fast charging can replenish up to 50% of the battery in about 20 minutes when using an adapter rated at 60 W or higher and a USB-C cable. With MagSafe wireless charging and an adapter rated at 35 W or higher, it takes about 30 minutes.

Durability and repairability

The European energy label also discloses additional iPhone Duo specifications:

  • Energy efficiency rating – A.
  • Battery endurance – at least 1,000 charge cycles.
  • Drop resistance – Class B.
  • Repairability – Class C, score of 2.65 out of 5.
  • Water and dust resistance – IP68, with submersion to a depth of up to 6 meters.

Drop-resistance tests specify at least 140 drops without defects occurring. A separate result is given for the fully unfolded smartphone: 35 drops. These results were obtained under standardized conditions and do not guarantee that the device will remain undamaged in real-world use.

Users cannot replace the battery themselves. In addition, Apple guarantees the availability of security updates and software fixes for at least five years after the model is discontinued.
