Vodafone reveals iPhone Ultra prices – Apple’s first foldable smartphone
Vodafone Australia operator has revealed prices for three configurations of iPhone Ultra with storage capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.

According to a leak, the iPhone Ultra will launch in Australia in three variants:
- 256 GB – AUD 3,699 (approximately $2660 or €2290);
- 512 GB – AUD 4,199 (approximately $3020 or €2600);
- 1 TB – 4,699 Australian dollars (approximately $3380 or €2910).
Given that iPhones in Australia typically cost about 30% more than in the United States, US prices might look like this:
- iPhone Ultra 256 GB – $2499;
- iPhone Ultra 512 GB – $2849;
- iPhone Ultra 1 TB – $3199.
Previous forecasts also pointed to a lower starting price. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman valued the base iPhone Ultra at approximately $2000-2500.
What is known about the iPhone Ultra
The name iPhone Ultra remains unofficial. According to sources, Apple has chosen a book-style foldable design. In the closed state, the smartphone will feature an external screen of approximately 5.5 inches, while the internal display will be around 7.8 inches.
Fresh data from Mark Gurman points to MagSafe support, the current Apple Pro-series chip, and a new proprietary modem. For the hinge, the company is reportedly using amorphous metal components. According to the latest information, Apple has not yet fully eliminated the central crease on the screen, but it should be less noticeable than on many existing foldable smartphones.
iOS 27 will be adapted for a larger internal display. It is expected to support simultaneous operation of two apps and the ability to drag content between them. The interface of individual apps will be able to use side panels, similar to iPad.
Other leaks attribute the iPhone Ultra with Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID, two main cameras, and a body thickness of about 4.5 mm when unfolded. Apple has not yet confirmed these specifications.
Presentation and start of sales
Apple officially scheduled the Surprise and shine event for September 9. The company has not yet disclosed the list of new devices, but it is expected that the main novelties will be the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the first foldable iPhone.
The Vodafone leak also cites September 12 as the start date for preorders of the iPhone Ultra. This year, that date seems plausible: earlier reports suggested Apple might open preorders on Saturday instead of the traditional Friday.
At the same time, the actual delivery dates for the foldable model remain unclear. According to the latest reports from Mark Gurman, the iPhone Ultra is expected to go on sale simultaneously with the iPhone 18 Pro or within a few weeks after them. Apple will announce official prices and dates no earlier than its September 9 presentation.
