Huawei reveals Mate XT 2 repair cost – display priced like iPhone 17
Huawei Mate XT 2 was unveiled just a few days ago, and Huawei has already published reference prices for the original components of the new foldable smartphone.
Display
The most expensive repair involves the flexible display. Replacing the main flexible panel will cost 5,499 yuan (≈ $820), while the Lingdun version with privacy protection will cost 6,499 yuan (≈ $969). Notably, even after the price increase, the new iPhone 17 still costs $899.
Screen modules, which include the display, middle frame, and battery, are even more expensive. Huawei offers units with minor cosmetic defects but fully functional: a standard module costs 6999 yuan (≈ $1044), while the privacy-screen version is priced at 7999 yuan (≈ $1193).
The standard screen module is priced at 7,999 yuan (≈ $1193), while the privacy-protected version costs 8,999 yuan (≈ $1342). The external display is significantly cheaper at 1,599 yuan (≈ $238).
Motherboard
The motherboard price depends on the storage capacity:
- 16 GB + 256 GB – 6099 yuan (≈ $909);
- 16 GB + 512 GB – 7,699 yuan (≈ $1148);
- 16 GB + 1 TB – 9,299 yuan (≈ $1387).
Thus, the motherboard for the 1 TB storage version costs nearly half of the base Mate XT 2. For the 2 TB configuration, Huawei has not yet disclosed the price of the board.
Cameras and other components
The most expensive camera is the main one, costing 949 yuan (≈ $142). The periscope telephoto lens costs 809 yuan (≈ $121), the ultra-wide-angle camera is 369 yuan (≈ $55), and the Red Maple color sensor is 299 yuan (≈ $45). Each of the two front-facing cameras is valued at 379 yuan (≈ $57).
The remaining components are noticeably cheaper. The fingerprint scanner costs 93 yuan (≈ $14), the cable 129 yuan (≈ $19), the display protective film 249 yuan (≈ $37), and the battery 499 yuan (≈ $74).
The rear cover is priced at 399 yuan (≈ $59), and the version with a camera module protective glass is 1,399 yuan (≈ $209). Huawei lists these amounts as reference prices for spare parts, so the final repair cost at a service center may vary.
