iPhone 18 Pro owners complain about ads in iOS 27
iPhone owners on iOS 27 have reported that Apple service offers appear directly in the Settings app, accompanied by a red notification indicator. The wave of complaints intensified after the launch of iPhone 18 Pro and other new devices.
At the top of Settings, a block titled Services Included with Purchase appears, featuring offers for iCloud+, Apple Music, Apple TV, and AppleCare+. Some of these are shown after purchasing a new device and offer activation of a free trial period, after which the subscription becomes paid.
For example, owners of compatible devices can get three months of Apple Music for free. The offer is available to new subscribers and must be activated within three months after the initial device setup. Terms for other promotions depend on the region and the user’s subscription history.
The main complaints are not about the offers themselves, but about how they are displayed. The promotions are accompanied by a red indicator on the Settings icon, which typically signals a system update, an Apple Account issue, or another event requiring attention.
Some Reddit users report that after viewing or dismissing a prompt, the indicator disappears only temporarily and then reappears. In some cases, there is no way to permanently close the prompt.
Apple continues to expand advertising capabilities for its services. Ads are already used in the App Store and Apple Maps, and earlier analysis of iOS 27 code revealed signs of support for sponsored results from third-party search services in Visual Intelligence.
