Razer unveils PS5 controller with a magnesium body
Razer has announced a limited edition of its flagship gaming controller, the Raiju V3 Pro Signature Edition. The controller features a magnesium alloy and an unusual open-frame design that reveals its internal components.
Design
The outer frame of the Raiju V3 Pro Signature Edition is made of magnesium alloy. This material combines strength with low weight, helping bring the device’s weight down to 260 grams—making the controller lighter than the standard DualSense for PlayStation 5.

The front panel takes the form of a perforated outer frame with cutouts that go all the way through. A nano-coating helps protect the internal components from dirt. The grip areas feature microtextured thermoplastic polyurethane pads that help prevent hands from slipping.
Technology and controls
The analog sticks use contactless TMR magnetic sensors, which improve durability and reduce the risk of stick drift. The buttons and D-pad are made of rigid, wear-resistant PBT plastic. The controller has six additional programmable buttons: two bumpers next to the main triggers and four rear buttons with a crisp mechanical click.

Trigger travel can be adjusted manually, with a choice between a smooth pull for racing simulators and rapid actuation for shooters. When connected wirelessly to a PC, the polling rate reaches 2000 Hz, helping reduce input lag.

The new controller is officially licensed for use with PlayStation 5. Sensitivity settings and button profiles can be configured in the Razer PS mobile app or Razer Synapse 4 on PC.
What’s included and price
The Raiju V3 Pro Signature Edition comes in a hard carrying case made of artificial leather. The package includes interchangeable thumbstick caps in different heights, a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable, a wireless adapter, interchangeable rear-button caps, and a tool for replacing them.

The initial run will consist of 1337 numbered units. The controller costs $350. Sales are scheduled to begin on November 10, 2026.
