HP released the ZBook Ultra G3a with AMD Zen 5 processor and 192 GB unified memory
The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is a mobile workstation designed, among other things, for locally running large language models and professional graphics tasks.
Hardware foundation
In its top configuration, the HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is equipped with a 16-core AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor based on the Zen 5 architecture. The platform includes an XDNA 2 neural processing unit with performance up to 55 TOPS and integrated Radeon 8065S graphics based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture.
The laptop supports up to 192 GB of combined memory, with up to 160 GB allocatable to integrated graphics. According to HP, this is sufficient for running local language models with up to 300 billion parameters.
Data storage is handled by a PCIe 5.0 NVMe solid-state drive with capacities up to 8 TB.
Screen
Several 16-inch display options are available for the HP ZBook Ultra G3a. These include an OLED panel with 2880×1800 pixels resolution, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 500 nits, as well as a 4K HP DreamColor display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The base model is equipped with an energy-efficient panel featuring 1920×1200 pixels resolution and 400 nits brightness.

Cooling and Battery
The chassis thickness is 17.9 mm, and the weight starts at 1.9 kg. The cooling system uses an enlarged vapor chamber and two fans. The platform’s maximum TDP reaches 100 W, compared to 55 W for the ZBook Ultra G1a.
The laptop is equipped with a 96 Wh battery. Fast charging allows replenishing up to 50% of the charge in approximately 30 minutes.
Integration with Perplexity
Perplexity Computer is preinstalled on the laptop. The service integrates with Autodesk Revit via the MCP Connector and enables querying open model data using natural language prompts. In the current technical version, the integration operates in read-only mode and does not modify the Revit model.
Some AI tasks can be performed locally, allowing users to keep data on the device and reducing reliance on cloud computing. Perplexity offers a 30-day free trial; after that, some features require a subscription.
Connectivity and ports
The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 is equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports supporting USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 2.1, as well as USB Type-C with data transfer speeds up to 10 Gbit/s. Additionally, it includes USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1, an microSD slot, a 3.5 mm combined audio jack, and a security lock connector.

Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Some configurations feature a 5G modem and a Nano SIM slot. HP Wolf Security handles hardware and software protection functions.
Release dates and price
Sales of the HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 are expected to begin in October 2026. HP will announce pricing for various configurations closer to the launch date.
