Sony released firmware 26.06-14.00.00 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The main change concerns the PS5 Pro – PSSR 2.0 is now automatically applied in games compatible with the first version of the technology.

PSSR 2.0 is now enabled by default

Enhanced PSSR 2.0 arrived on PS5 Pro as early as March 2026, but for games using the older version of the technology, it had to be enabled manually. After installing the new firmware, image quality enhancement via PSSR activates automatically.

Sony states that the updated algorithm delivers sharper images, improves motion stability, and better restores fine details. Developers do not need to release separate updates for games already compatible with PSSR.

If the new processing causes graphical issues, it can be disabled in the video output settings.

Speaker indicator in the voice chat

PS5 and PS5 Pro can now display the name of the participant currently speaking in a voice chat. The indicator appears over the game, and its on-screen position can be adjusted in settings.

Popular games ranking

The Welcome Center now features a community activity widget with two rankings. The first displays the top 10 multiplayer games and modes that are rapidly gaining popularity, while the second shows the most popular games in the user’s region over the past week.

Update 26.06-14.00.00 also includes stability and performance fixes for PS5 system software.
