Razer accidentally sold a laptop with RTX 5090 at a discount of 4000 euros
A buyer of the Razer Blade 18 gaming laptop got incredibly lucky: instead of the ordered configuration with GeForce RTX 5080, they received a significantly more expensive model with RTX 5090, and no additional payment was required for the upgrade.
The story happened with one of the Reddit users. He placed an order for the Razer Blade 18 2026 for €2433, or approximately $2840. According to the leak, the laptop was supposed to get a Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor, a GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, 32 GB of RAM, and SSD with a capacity of 1 TБ.
However, the contents of the box turned out to be completely different. Instead of the configuration specified in the documents, the buyer discovered a laptop with a GeForce RTX 5090, 64 GB DDR5, and a storage drive with a capacity of 2 TБ. As a result, he received not only the flagship mobile graphics card but also twice as much RAM and disk space.
The difference in cost turned out to be impressive. In the European Razer store, Blade 18 configurations with RTX 5090 are typically sold for around €5600-6600. Compared to such prices, the buyer has effectively saved more than €4000. Moreover, even the base version with RTX 5080 at a standard retail price costs noticeably more than the €2433 that were paid for the order.
Especially interesting is that what happened, apparently, has nothing to do with sending someone else’s laptop. The buyer claims that the device’s serial number matches the one indicated in their invoice. Moreover, the specifications on the packaging also match the hardware installed inside: it lists RTX 5090, 64 GB of memory, and SSD with 2 TБ.
This may indicate an error in product packaging or labeling. Perhaps the seller or Razer itself incorrectly specified the configuration in the order, while the customer was actually sent a more expensive package. As a result, a random error turned an already profitable purchase into a real jackpot. Razer Blade 18 with RTX 5090 cheaper than €2500 looks like an offer that the company likely never intended to make officially.
It is not yet known how widespread such a failure is and whether this situation will occur for other buyers. But for one Blade 18 owner, this error was clearly more pleasant than any official discount.
