Everything we know about GTA from 6 leaks
A series of videos allegedly showing GTA VI gameplay has leaked online. Rockstar has already begun removing the videos from social media, which strongly suggests that the footage is authentic.
Besides shootouts, brawls, and driving around Leonida, the leaks revealed much more interesting details. Cars appear to have fuel levels and engine condition indicators, police can remember details about a suspect, and some character attributes can be improved through familiar activities.
Cars will have to be refueled
One of the most noticeable changes concerns vehicles. The interface displays two separate indicators next to the vehicle name – fuel level and engine condition.

This suggests that in GTA VI, players may no longer be able to drive the same car indefinitely. At the same time, it is currently unknown how quickly fuel is consumed and whether a vehicle can come to a complete stop with an empty tank. The fuel indicator also appears in later videos, so the system no longer looks like a random interface element.
Engine condition will also have to be taken into account. After sustaining damage, a vehicle may gradually lose functionality, making it more like a persistent gameplay resource than a disposable means of getting from point A to point B.
The trunk has also become functional. The leak revealed Loadout and Storage sections with four slots, suggesting that weapons and other items can be stored in the vehicle.
At the same time, the leak also hints at more varied methods of stealing cars. Judging by the interface, a vehicle can be stolen in at least two ways – by breaking a window or attempting to clone the key. This makes vehicle interactions slightly more complex than in previous entries in the series.
Police have become smarter
The wanted system has also become significantly more complex. GTA VI brings back the six-star wanted level, which was absent from GTA V.

Police receive information about more than just the player’s location. The interface displays individual attributes that law enforcement can use to identify the character, including clothing, appearance, and vehicle.
This could potentially allow players to escape not only by getting far enough away but also by changing vehicles or clothing.
The videos also show a separate detection indicator. It displays how close the police are to spotting the player, hinting at more advanced stealth mechanics.
Another interesting detail is that players appear to be able to surrender to the police by pressing a dedicated button. If the mechanic remains in the final version, it will add another way to resolve encounters besides fleeing or engaging in a firefight.
GTA VI is becoming more like an RPG
Character progression mechanics similar to those in GTA: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption 2 have returned.
In one of the videos, Jason plays basketball. After a successful shot, the Focus stat increases by 2%. Presumably, character attributes can be improved through various activities performed directly in the open world.

During a fight, a separate stamina indicator is also visible. It gradually decreases with each hit and is completely depleted after a prolonged fight.
Additionally, the game appears to feature a karma system. After a particularly brutal attack on an NPC, a devil icon with a minus sign appears on the screen. This resembles the honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2, although it is not yet known how strongly it will affect the story or how other characters react to the player.
Money will be split into two balances
Even the way money is displayed will change. The interface shows two amounts simultaneously: cash and a separate balance next to a home icon.

This could indicate the presence of a bank account, a home safe, or a system of recurring expenses. The exact purpose of the second balance remains unknown.
New combat details have emerged
Subsequent videos revealed additional mechanics. Jason can use a stun gun, pick up headgear from a defeated NPC, and wear it. When stealing a car, the game offers several options – breaking the window or attempting to copy the key.

The ability to surrender to the police has also been spotted, along with a separate command for marking a police officer.
According to the leak, the inventory system will also become more complex. In addition to the weapon wheel, the game uses a separate item menu, while medkits and other consumables can be used directly during gameplay.
There is also discussion of slow-motion kill sequences similar to those in Red Dead Redemption 2. Based on the leaked footage, it appears that some finishing moves or particularly brutal shots may briefly slow the game down to emphasize the moment.
Night scenes have become noticeably more technologically advanced
According to the leaks, Rockstar has also significantly improved the graphics. In night scenes, ray tracing appears to be used for street lighting, while real-time reflections are visible in car windows.

It is too early to say exactly how all of this will look in the final version or which graphics modes will support these effects, but even the leaked footage shows that the city at night in GTA VI looks noticeably more complex and realistic than in GTA V.
If most of these mechanics remain in the final version, GTA VI will be noticeably closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 than GTA V: more character attributes, a more complex police system, inventory management, more varied interactions, and vehicles that actually require attention.
When and where GTA 6 will be released
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s official extended gameplay showcase will take place on August 27. Leaked GTA 6 gameplay videos are available on our Telegram channel.
