A store in Tokyo is asking 205,000 yen (≈ $1292) for a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM. That is more than 2.4 times its launch price in Japan.

NVIDIA graphics card prices in Japan

Reddit user Chaise91 posted a photo of price tags at a computer store in Tokyo. The photo shows various GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards priced well above their original prices.

GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB in Japan rises to $1,300

The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM stands out most. In April 2025, it could be bought for around 85,000 yen (≈ $535). The store now offers different versions of the card for 139 800-205 000 yen (≈ $881-1292). This means the highest price has risen by around 141%.

The 8 GB version of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has also become more expensive. It sold for around 75,000 yen (≈ $473) at launch, but the store now lists it for 118,800 yen (≈ $749). That is an increase of around 58%.

Prices of other GeForce RTX 50 models

The high prices also affect NVIDIA’s more powerful graphics cards. The photo shows the following listings:

Graphics cardPrice in Japan
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB≈ $749
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB≈ $881-1292
GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB≈ $914-1253
GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB≈ $1455-1795
GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB≈ $1865-2445

The price relationship between the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5070 looks particularly unusual. Some 16 GB versions of the RTX 5060 Ti cost more than the more powerful 12 GB RTX 5070, even though the latter is in a higher tier.

The GeForce RTX 5080 has also become significantly more expensive. In Japan, some versions are listed for nearly $2500, compared with an original price of around $1260. That is a difference of up to 94%.

For comparison, NVIDIA’s official US list prices at launch were $379 for the 8 GB RTX 5060 Ti and $429 for the 16 GB version. Japanese launch prices were higher than US prices from the outset.
