Samsung released the Galaxy A07s – 90 Hz display and 6 years of updates
Samsung has started sales of the new affordable smartphone Galaxy A07s. Among its features are a 90-Hz display, a 50-MP camera, and six generations of Android updates.
Display
The Galaxy A07s is equipped with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels (HD+) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Yes, there is no AMOLED matrix here. For one of the most affordable models in the Galaxy A series, this is an expected compromise, especially against the backdrop of more expensive Samsung smartphones with OLED displays.
The chassis measures 167,4 × 77,4 × 7,6 mm and weighs 188 grams.
Performance
The Galaxy A07s runs on a 6nm octa-core MediaTek G99+ processor. Two clusters CPU operate at frequencies up to 2.2 and 2.0 GHz.
Three configurations were presented in Jordan:
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage;
- 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage;
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.
The microSD card has a dedicated slot supporting drives up to 2 TB. The smartphone simultaneously supports two Nano-SIM cards and a memory card.
Cameras
The rear panel features a dual camera:
- 50 MP, main, f/1.8, autofocus;
- 2 MP, depth sensor, f/2.4.
There is no optical stabilization, and the maximum digital zoom is 10×. The camera records video at 1920 × 1080 pixels resolution at 30 frames per second and supports HD slow-motion recording at 120 frames per second.
An 8-MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus is used for selfies and video calls.
Battery, Software, and Connectivity
The smartphone is equipped with a typical 5000 mAh battery and 25 W charging.
The chassis is protected against dust and splashes to the IP54 standard. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side edge.
Galaxy A07s supports only 4G mobile networks. Among its interfaces are dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. Wired connectivity is provided via USB Type-C with a USB 2.0 interface. The device also retains a 3.5-mm audio jack, but it lacks stereo speakers.
The smartphone runs Android 16 with the One UI skin. Samsung promises six generations of Android updates and six years of security updates – until August 31, 2032.
Release dates, colors, and price
The Galaxy A07s is already on sale in Jordan in black, green, and light purple colors:
- 4 + 64 GB – 119 Jordanian dinars (≈ $168);
- 4 + 128 GB – 149 Jordanian dinars (≈ $210);
- 6 + 128 GB – 175 Jordanian dinars (≈ $247).
There is currently no information about the release dates for Galaxy A07s in other markets.
