OPPO K15s announced with 8,000 mAh battery and IP69K rating
The OPPO K15s focuses on long battery life and enhanced chassis protection. The smartphone is equipped with an 8,000 mAh battery and meets four different water and dust resistance standards, including IP69K.
Screen
The OPPO K15s features a flat 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (2372 × 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The 10-bit panel displays 1.07 billion colors and provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Peak brightness reaches 1,400 nits.
The touch layer supports an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 1,000 Hz and recognizes touches from wet or greasy fingers, as well as through gloves up to 5 mm thick. An optical fingerprint scanner is integrated into the display.
Performance
The OPPO K15s is powered by an 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor paired with 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A 4,300 mm² vapor chamber is used for heat dissipation.
There is also a special outdoor mode that boosts mobile network performance and improves positioning accuracy.
Cameras
The main camera features a 50 MP sensor, autofocus, and support for 10x digital zoom. It records video in Full HD resolution at up to 60 frames per second and supports slow-motion shooting.
The 8 MP front-facing camera is located in a hole at the top of the display.
Battery and charging
The OPPO K15s is equipped with a battery with a typical capacity of 8,000 mAh, while its rated capacity is 7,820 mAh. It supports 45W SuperVOOC wired charging.
According to OPPO, the battery can withstand more than 2,000 full charge and discharge cycles. In a laboratory scenario with one full cycle approximately every 1.3 days, the capacity should remain at no less than 80% of its original level after about seven years. This is the manufacturer’s calculation, not a guarantee of the battery’s actual service life.
Design and body protection
The smartphone features a reinforced, shock-resistant design and has passed 15 climate and environmental tests according to the GJB150A-2009 standard.
Under controlled laboratory conditions, the chassis meets IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ingress protection ratings. The latter includes resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Protection conditions and limits in real-world use may differ from laboratory test results.
The smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC, and is also equipped with an infrared transmitter for controlling home appliances.
Release dates and price
Sales of the OPPO K15s in China began on September 30. The smartphone is available in Shadow Gray and Wind Trail Purple colors.
Standard retail prices:
- 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage – 1,999 yuan (≈ $298);
- 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage – 2,299 yuan (≈ $343).
From September 30 to October 31, there is a 300 yuan discount:
- 6 GB + 128 GB – 1,699 yuan (≈ $253);
- 8 GB + 256 GB – 1,999 yuan (≈ $298).
There has been no announcement yet regarding the international release of the OPPO K15s.
