Chassis and design
The LG gram Book AI 2026 with model number 14U40V features a fully aluminum metal chassis. With a 14-inch display, its thickness is 14.9 mm and weight is 1.29 kg.
This is the first 14-inch laptop in the gram Book series. The company decided to make the model more compact than previous representatives of the line while retaining a full set of ports.
The chassis features USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, a 3.5-mm audio jack, and an RJ-45 port for wired network connectivity. The latter is becoming increasingly rare in slim laptops and eliminates the need for a separate USB adapter.
The webcam is equipped with a physical shutter that completely covers the lens.
Performance
The LG gram Book AI 2026 is built on Intel’s Core Series processor from the third generation of 2026, based on the Wildcat Lake architecture. LG emphasizes the platform’s energy efficiency over peak performance.
One of the initial configurations features 8 GB of RAM and SSD with 256 GB capacity. This setup helped reduce the price amid a significant rise in memory and other PC component costs in 2026.
For less demanding tasks, a quiet system cooling mode is provided. It is designed primarily for working with documents, using a web browser, and watching videos in offices, libraries, and other places where low noise levels are important.
LG has not yet disclosed the full list of available processors or the detailed specifications of the 14-inch display.
Battery
One of the main features of the LG gram Book AI 2026 is a 61.2 Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, the laptop can run for up to 30.5 hours without recharging.
This exceeds the advertised battery life of the newly released Samsung Galaxy Book6, which was announced almost simultaneously. Its manufacturer promises up to 25 hours of video playback.
However, 30.5 hours is LG’s maximum figure, achieved under a specific usage scenario. With high screen brightness and heavy load, actual battery life will be lower.
Windows and AI features
The laptop runs Windows and supports the operating system’s artificial intelligence features. The keyboard includes a dedicated Copilot button for quick access to Microsoft AI tools.
The preinstalled LG gram Link app enables connecting a laptop with smartphones and tablets from various manufacturers. Through it, you can transfer photos and videos, as well as use the laptop’s keyboard and touchpad to control the connected mobile device.
Duplication and extension of the workspace are supported when connecting additional displays.
Price and release date
Sales of the LG gram Book AI 2026 in South Korea will begin on September 7. The recommended price starts at 1.45 million won—approximately $1010. The final price will depend on the selected configuration.
For comparison, the LG gram AI 2026 is priced from 2.74 million won in South Korea. Thus, the new gram Book AI turned out to be approximately 1.29 million won cheaper.
LG positions the model as a more affordable alternative to its higher-end laptops amid rising costs for memory and other components. At the same time, the company did not cut corners on the aluminum chassis, battery life, or range of interfaces.
In South Korea, laptops can be purchased or subscribed to for up to four years. The contract includes free service maintenance throughout its term, and depending on the selected plan, it also offers one-time free battery and keyboard replacements.
No announcement has been made yet regarding the international launch of the LG gram Book AI 2026.
