Lenovo has unveiled the Legion C700 portable console for cloud gaming
Unlike full-fledged portable Windows consoles, the Legion Cloud Gaming Handheld C700 is not designed to run demanding games independently – the main load falls on the cloud service or the user’s gaming PC.
Screen
The Lenovo Legion C700 is equipped with a 7.82-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The display supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz, with a peak brightness reaching 500 nits.
Despite the fairly large display, the device turned out to be compact: the body thickness is 14.9 mm, and the weight is 556 g. This is about 300 g less than many modern Windows-based portable gaming devices.
Hardware foundation
The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor is responsible for the console’s operation. Lenovo offers the C700 in two configurations: with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, or with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. If necessary, storage capacity can be increased using a microSD card.
The battery capacity is 8000 мА·ч. According to Lenovo, the C700 can operate for up to nine hours without recharging while streaming games. Actual battery life will depend on screen brightness, volume level, and wireless connection quality.
An active cooling system with a fan is used to cool the components. The user can independently adjust its rotation speed via the device’s quick settings menu. Charging is done via USB Type-C, however the port operates according to the USB 2.0 standard.
Wi-Fi 6E and OS support
One of the key features of the Legion C700 was the Wi-Fi 6E module. It supports the 6 ГГц band, which, when used with a compatible router, can provide a more stable connection and reduce the likelihood of interference during game streaming. The console also supports Bluetooth 5.3.
Lenovo states that under optimal network conditions, end-to-end latency during streaming can be less than 10 ms. As an example, the manufacturer cites Black Myth: Wukong, which when using cloud gaming can run on C700 at up to 60 frames per second.
The device runs on Android 16. Out of the box, Tencent Start Cloud Gaming and the proprietary Lenovo Legion Stream app are available, designed for streaming games from a local PC.
Management
Lenovo used the familiar layout reminiscent of Xbox controllers for management. The console received magnetic TMR joysticks with RGB backlighting and analog Hall effect triggers.
In addition to the standard ABXY buttons and eight-way D-pad, there are additional programmable LC1/RC1 and LC/RC buttons that can be used for complex combinations and extra functions. Tactile feedback is provided by two vibration motors, and a six-axis gyroscope is included for control in supported games.
Release dates, colors, and price
Sales of the Lenovo Legion Cloud Gaming Handheld C700 will begin on September 8, 2026. The console is available only in the Ice Soul White color. The cost of the base version is 2199 yuan ($327). However, at launch the device can be purchased for a promotional price of 1999 yuan ($297).
