AOC released a 5K monitor with a Mini LED display and a 360 Hz refresh rate.
AOC has unveiled the AGON Ultra AGP277KXM gaming monitor, which combines 5K resolution, Mini LED backlighting with 2304 zones, and a refresh rate of up to 360 Hz.
Display
AOC AGON Ultra AGP277KXM is equipped with a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with a resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels and a density of 218 ppi. Mini LED backlighting with 2304 independent local dimming zones and QD quantum dot technology is used.
The main feature of the monitor is its dual-mode operation format. In standard mode, the display supports 5K at 165 Hz with overclocking capability up to 180 Hz. When switching to 2560 × 1440 pixels resolution, the base frequency increases to 330 Hz, and the maximum to 360 Hz.
Thus, the user can choose between maximum clarity for modern games and work or a higher refresh rate for competitive projects.
Mini LED and HDR
The backlight is divided into 2304 local dimming zones. Thanks to this, the monitor can independently adjust the brightness of small image areas, increasing contrast in dark scenes and reducing glare around bright objects.
AGP277KXM has received VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification. The maximum brightness of the entire screen reaches 450 nits, in HDR it can increase to approximately 1200 nits, and on small areas – up to 1600 nits. The specified static contrast ratio is 1500:1.
Color reproduction
The panel displays 1.07 billion shades and covers 100% of the sRGB color space, as well as 98% DCI-P3 and 98% Adobe RGB. For sRGB, factory calibration with a Delta E deviation of less than 1 is specified.
Thanks to the high pixel density and wide color gamut, the monitor is designed not only for gaming. Its specifications are suitable for processing photos, videos, and other tasks where high detail and color accuracy are important.
Gaming capabilities
The minimum response time of the Fast IPS panel is 0.5 ms GtG. The monitor supports adaptive refresh rate VRR, which synchronizes the screen’s operation with the graphics card and reduces image tearing.
Also, the MBR technology is provided to reduce motion blur.
A separate mode allows reducing the active image area from 27 to 24.5 inches. This feature is designed primarily for competitive games, where the compact image size allows you to keep most of the action in view.
Interfaces
The following are provided for connecting image sources:
- 1 × DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 bandwidth;
- 2 × HDMI 2.1 with FRL6;
- 1 × USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and charging up to 65 W;
- 3 × USB 3.2 Gen 1 with speeds up to 5 Gbit/s;
- 1 × USB-B for connecting the built-in USB hub;
- 3.5-mm audio jack.
Built-in KVM switch allows using one keyboard and mouse with two computers simultaneously. Also supported are Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture modes for simultaneous display of images from multiple sources.
Chassis and additional features
The monitor received the proprietary Light FX backlighting, which can synchronize light effects with on-screen action or music. The body features a retractable holder for headphones.
The complete quick-release stand allows adjusting the height within 150 mm, tilting the screen from -5° to 23°, rotating it sideways by 20°, and switching to portrait mode with a 90° rotation.
Price and release date
AOC added the AGON Ultra AGP277KXM to its official website in China on August 28. The manufacturer has not yet announced the monitor’s price or the exact launch date.
The model has not yet appeared on the global AOC website, so release dates for AGP277KXM outside China remain unknown.
