Apple announces October 28 event: What to expect
Apple has announced its Pro and Tell event, which will take place on October 28, 2026, in Los Angeles. The headline announcement could be the first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen OLED display. New Mac computers with the M6 processor and an updated iPad mini are also expected to be unveiled.
The announcement was made by Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak. He posted a short video featuring the company logo on social media platform X, with the caption “Can’t wait to pro and tell next week”.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple has invited journalists and technology media representatives, who will be able to get hands-on with the devices. The company has not yet announced a livestream, however. It is possible that the new products will be introduced through press releases and separate videos.
MacBook Pro with a touchscreen OLED display
According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the main announcement will be updated 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. For the first time in the lineup’s history, the laptops could get touchscreen OLED displays, allowing users to control the macOS interface directly with taps.

Another change will be Dynamic Island. Like on the iPhone, this feature will replace the familiar camera notch and display system notifications and controls.
The laptops are expected to be noticeably lighter than current models. Despite the design update, however, they are rumored to use the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max processors rather than newer chips from the M6 family.
New MacBook Pro and iMac with M6 processor
Alongside the redesigned models with OLED displays, Apple is reportedly set to unveil a standard 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 processor. Unlike the more expensive versions, it is expected to retain the familiar design without a touchscreen.

The 24-inch iMac is also expected to get a similar hardware update. The computer could switch to the M6 processor without any significant changes to its appearance.
Apple could therefore offer two different MacBook Pro upgrades at the same time: models with a new design and touchscreen displays, but M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, alongside a more familiar version with an M6 chip.
iPad mini with OLED display
Another expected new product is an updated iPad mini. The tablet is rumored to get an OLED display instead of the LCD panel used in the current model. This switch would enable true blacks and improve image contrast while reducing power consumption.

According to preliminary reports, Apple will also change the position of the front-facing camera, moving it to the longer side of the body for video calls in landscape orientation. A redesigned speaker system is also expected.
Earlier leaks pointed to the possible use of an A20 Pro processor and improved water resistance.
Event date and sales launch
The Pro and Tell event will take place on October 28, 2026. According to Bloomberg, the new devices could go on sale as early as November 6.
