The PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI could arrive in the first quarter of 2027, GamesBeat reports, citing four anonymous sources familiar with Rockstar Games plans.

According to the outlet, GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on PC sometime between January and March 2027. The console version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is set to launch on November 19, 2026. That would put the gap between releases at between one and a half and four and a half months.

For Rockstar Games, this would be a significant departure from its usual release strategy. Grand Theft Auto V, for example, launched on consoles in September 2013, but didn’t arrive on PC until April 2015, about 19 months later. Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched on consoles first, in October 2018, with the PC version following in November 2019, more than a year later.

The shorter wait is attributed to the growing importance of the PC market and Rockstar’s interest in developing user-generated content. In August 2023, the company acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, a platform for creating multiplayer servers for GTA V. However, it is unclear whether the acquisition is connected to the purported PC release window for GTA VI.

Rockstar Games did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment. Take-Two Interactive has also not announced a PC release. Officially, GTA 6 has only been announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and reports of a PC release in early 2027 remain unconfirmed.
