OpenAI releases GPT-6 with new Intelligent UI

OpenAI has begun the global rollout of GPT-6 in ChatGPT and introduced a new technology called Intelligent UI. It allows the system to independently select the response format and combine plain text with graphics and interactive elements.

What is Intelligent UI

Intelligent UI enables GPT-6 to independently determine the appropriate response format. Instead of a standard text message, ChatGPT can generate a table, chart, form, interactive diagram, or other interface element. The user does not need to manually select a format: the system chooses it while preparing the response.

At the same time, the standard text mode is not going anywhere. If text is sufficient for the task, ChatGPT will continue to respond in the familiar format.

Features

Intelligent UI allows for the creation of tools adapted to a specific user task. For example, you can get a savings growth calculator, a bill-splitting tool, or another interactive interface directly within ChatGPT.

The system also allows for the creation of games that can be played right inside the chat. As one example, OpenAI demonstrates a retro game. Thus, ChatGPT can not only provide information but also create interactive tools for working with it.

Another feature of GPT-6 is the ability to start forming a response before the entire reasoning process is complete. Previously, for complex tasks, the user had to wait until the model finished processing the request. Now, ChatGPT can start responding earlier and gradually supplement the result as new information is received.

GPT-6 is trained to form such responses from several sequential parts. Each one complements the previous one, while the final response must remain coherent and free of unnecessary repetitions.

Availability

The rollout of GPT-6 with Intelligent UI began on October 7 for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. Starting October 8, OpenAI is expanding access to Free and Go plans. For Enterprise, availability also depends on workspace settings.

In standard ChatGPT mode, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users receive GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go users receive GPT-6 Luna.

When selecting the Pro reasoning mode, GPT-6 Astra is used, which does not support Intelligent UI. The update applies to the standard Chat mode in ChatGPT and does not change the models used in Work and Codex.
